Modern young man Su Ming accidentally activates a Realm Visitor System, and Xu Miaoyun from the eighth year of the Hongwu era is sent to his home through a spatial rift. At the same time, a sky screen appears above Yingtian Prefecture, letting the Ming emperor, his ministers and his people watch every word and action of the two in real time. With just over six days to stay, Xu Miaoyun follows Su Ming to discover the modern world, learns the roots of the Ming dynasty's rise and fall, and encounters high-yield crops, new institutions and scientific knowledge. Through the sky screen, Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Biao and others review the dynasty's ills and ponder the path to reform. When time runs out, Xu Miaoyun returns to the Ming with a wealth of knowledge and items, receives a noble title and founds the Academy of Heavenly Crafts. Su Ming reaps generous rewards and moves into a new villa.
