She is a blade ordered to kill, while he is an ear that heard countless sounds yet is gradually turning deaf. Shuangjiang and Yingzhong meet at the Bamboo Ferry. Within seven days, a cup of tea, a whistle, and a snapped zither string mark the fleeting moments of their tale. She watches him listen to the rain and distinguish the wind, and notices how, even as his hearing condition worsens, he still listens attentively to every word. Yet the pursuers from Baishe Pavilion arrive at last, leaving neither of them with anywhere to retreat.
