Above Fertile Fields, Live Out Confidence
Before her husband's seven-day mourning period after death had even passed, the widow Maixiang was ruthlessly pressed by her in-laws' relatives to seize her land and cut off her water in harassment, while also suffering malicious rumors and secret suppression, driven to the desperate edge. Xu Chuan, who returned from military service, stepped forward to stand up and back her. In the midst of desperation, Maixiang no longer endured in silence; keeping evidence and holding fast to the fertile fields, she step-by-step shattered prejudice and bullying. Deeply cultivating the land and opening a mill, she led the rural women to stand on their own two feet and strive for self-improvement, breaking free from worldly shackles, and above those square inches of fertile land, living out her very own confidence and brightness.
