I Am the Island Lord in the Desolate Sea
Jiang Chao, a scientific expedition researcher, travels through time to a primitive, desolate sea sealed off by year-round storms. Facing desperate circumstances, he relies on modern medicine, fishing and hunting, and engineering knowledge to overcome one crisis after another. He cures an infected child and builds his initial wealth through fine salt and dried fish. He subdues sea bandits, forms alliances with neighboring tribes, builds large ships, digs canals, smelts bronze, and constructs docks. From surviving alone to leading an entire tribe, and from an isolated island settlement to a deep-water city-state, he leads his people through towering waves and countless crises to forge a path toward civilization. Just as the walls of Tide Harbor City rise, the silhouette of a giant ship slowly emerges on the horizon beyond the storm wall.

Jiang Chao, ricercatore impegnato in una spedizione scientifica, viaggia nel tempo e arriva in un mare primordiale e desolato, isolato da tempeste per tutto l’anno. Di fronte a una situazione disperata, sfrutta le proprie conoscenze di medicina moderna, pesca, caccia e ingegneria per superare le difficoltà una dopo l’altra. Cura un bambino infetto e accumula il capitale iniziale grazie al sale fino e al pesce essiccato. In seguito sottomette i pirati del mare, stringe alleanze con le tribù vicine, costruisce grandi navi, scava canali, fonde bronzo e realizza moli. Da solo intento a sopravvivere diventa il capo di un’intera tribù; da un insediamento tribale su un’isola deserta nasce una città-stato in acque profonde. Guida la sua gente attraverso onde gigantesche e numerose crisi, aprendo la strada alla civiltà. Quando le mura della città portuale di Chao si innalzano, la sagoma di una nave gigantesca appare lentamente all’orizzonte, oltre la barriera delle tempeste.
