Lin Tuo, a former special forces captain, is betrayed by his trusted subordinate, Xie Wei. The helicopter he is traveling in crashes into the African rainforest, leaving him seriously injured. He is rescued by Nakiya, the princess of the Kawula tribe. At the time, the tribe is being manipulated by a malicious high shaman, and its people are suffering from a strange and mysterious illness. Taking advantage of natural disasters, the shaman falsely accuses Nakiya of plotting to seize power. Using his modern knowledge and combat skills, Lin Tuo treats the sick with ice from the Sacred Mountain. However, the high shaman joins forces with three other tribes, luring them with promises of mineral deposits to launch a joint invasion. Lin Tuo learns the tribe's drum language and cleverly uses a divide-and-conquer strategy, defeating the top warriors of all three tribes in succession. Ultimately, Lin Tuo unifies the rainforest tribes, stays by Nakiya's side, and protects all the people living in the rainforest.

Gravemente ferido, é salvo por Nakiya, a princesa da tribo Kawula. Naquela altura, a tribo está sob o controlo de um grande feiticeiro mal-intencionado, e os seus habitantes sofrem de uma doença estranha e misteriosa. O feiticeiro aproveita-se das catástrofes naturais para acusar falsamente Nakiya de tentar usurpar o poder. Recorrendo aos seus conhecimentos modernos e às suas capacidades de combate, Lin Tuo utiliza gelo da Montanha Sagrada para tratar os doentes. No entanto, o grande feiticeiro alia-se a outras três tribos, usando jazidas minerais como isco para formar um exército conjunto e invadir o território. Lin Tuo aprende a linguagem dos tambores da tribo e utiliza uma astuta estratégia de divisão para derrotar sucessivamente os melhores guerreiros das três tribos.
