"Soul of Wood" tells the story of Zheng Musheng, heir to a woodcarving family. After his grandfather sacrifices himself to protect the ancestral residence, Musheng accidentally awakens mythical beasts from the Classic of Mountains and Seas, such as Bai Ze and the Nine-tailed Fox. From then on, while fighting off malevolent spirits, evil demons, and Qiongqi, he tries to bring traditional woodcarving back to the eyes of youth through designer toys, livestreams, and digital media. As more and more people believe in and love the ancient myths, the mythical beasts regain their spiritual power, and Zheng Musheng gradually grows into a guardian connecting intangible cultural heritage with modern culture.
