Wedding planner Lin Wan receives a booking for the wedding of her ex-boyfriend, Chen Zhiye. His bride-to-be, Su Nian, asks Lin Wan to publicly recite an old poem and ruin the ceremony. As Lin Wan investigates, past secrets involving their three families come to light: years ago, Chen's father misappropriated money to save his sick wife, Lin's father reported it, and Su's father died overwhelmed by guilt. Chen Zhiye remained silent for years to shield Lin Wan, while Su Nian wrongly pinned her inner resentment onto him.
