On the wedding day of Shen Zhiwei, the legitimate daughter of the Grand Tutor, her cousin impostor shockingly took her place at the ceremony. Even after discovering the truth, her fiancé Xiao Yuan, General of Zhenbei, refused to annul the marriage and insisted on taking Shen Zhiwei merely as a concubine. Shen Zhiwei immediately ordered all one hundred and twenty chests of her dowry hauled back to the Shen estate, mercilessly tearing apart this absurd farce. Humiliated and furious, Xiao Yuan wielded his authority to suppress the Shen clan at every turn. In their moment of peril, the Seventh Prince Zhao Jingxing stepped in to aid her. Armed with irrefutable proof that Xiao Yuan falsely claimed military merits and formed illicit factions, Shen Zhiwei seized the wedding banquet to present his crimes. An imperial decree was issued, delivering severe punishment to Xiao Yuan and Shen Yueru. Having weathered the storm, she joined hands with her soulmate Zhao Jingxing to stride forward into a brilliant future together.
