Exploited by his adoptive parents for twenty years, Zhao Geng worked the fields tirelessly only to be dismissed with a meager hundred coins. Heartbroken, he severed ties and rented flood-and-drought-prone wasteland that no one else dared to touch. While everyone waited to see him fail, he turned the tables by growing sorghum and brewing fine liquor. His hypocritical brother stole credit and brought ruin upon the entire village; once the truth came to light, the family of three knelt and begged for mercy. Zhao Geng proved through sheer strength that a good life isn't stolen, but built with one's own hands! Severing kin, slapping faces, and rising through farming—pure satisfaction all the way!
