Starting from Scratch, I Turned a Barren Mountain into a Gold Mountain
Li Tao, a graduate of an agricultural university, returns to his hometown to serve as the village official of Shigou Village. After six years of dedicated work, he leads the villagers in growing premium plums among the rocky crevices and establishes sales channels that increase their income more than a hundredfold. However, at an awards ceremony, the villagers falsely accuse him of making dishonest profits from price differences and maliciously insult him. Li Tao returns the price difference, resigns from his position as village official, and ends the purchasing arrangement. Trusting Qiangzi, another university graduate, the villagers decide to sell their fruit independently and promote it through livestreams. But lacking knowledge of distribution channels, cold-chain logistics, and cost accounting, they are forced to accept low prices from merchants, attract no viewers to their livestreams, and watch their plums rot in the fields. Li Tao then moves to Hewan Village, where he uses his expertise and sales channels to help the villagers grow high-quality plums.
