The story follows morin khuur artisan Lin Yanqiu, who perseveres in the traditional Chao'er-style instrument-making craft to protect her family's musical heritage in an increasingly commercialized era. Lu Yunzhou, owner of an out-of-town instrument store, happens upon Apricot Blossom Lane and is deeply moved by the cloud-patterned instrument she restored using ancient techniques. Together, they overcome technical challenges such as soundboxes, earthen cellar wood conditioning, and double-skin mounting, repair the unfinished heirloom instrument left by her grandfather, participate in intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, and take on apprentices. Amid pine soot, carving knives, and melodies, a mutual understanding and affection blossom, allowing the Lin family's fading morin khuur craft to be handed down through generations and preserving the enduring heritage of the grasslands.
