Su Ye Dreams of Journey to the West - Season 2
The method used by Su Ye is the staff-release method among corpse-release techniques, replacing the physical body with a peach wood staff to trick the underworld ghost messengers. When the ghost messengers come to hook souls, all they will see is the corpse that the staff turned into, unable to find his soul. Once the time for hooking souls has passed and they see the corpse rotting, they will treat him as a lonely wandering ghost and cross his name off the Book of Life and Death. Thus, he is considered to have become an immortal.
