Suppressing 100,000 Anomalies for the Nation, Why Regret Forcing Me to Step Down (60 episodes)

Zhong Daojiu, the Martial Saint of the Great Yan Dynasty, suppressed 100,000 anomalies with his own body ten years ago, enduring the agony of myriad ghosts devouring his flesh to protect all living beings. Ten years later, the new Empress Zhao Ruoyan listens to the slander of the newly risen Martial Saint Lu Xiu, mistakenly believing that Zhong Daojiu fished for unearned fame. She strips him of his title, breaks their betrothal, and frames him. Ambitious and secretly possessed by an anomaly, Lu Xiu manipulates warriors into human sacrifice to unseal the passage to the Nether Realm, awakening the Lord of Anomalies to invade the mortal realm. After suffering the tragic death of his sister Zhong Li, aided by his senior martial sister Lin Huang and Empress Xia Yu of Great Xia, Zhong Daojiu ventures deep into the Nether Realm to claim the Nether Flower and resurrect Zhong Li. Ultimately, he transforms into an anomaly himself to slay the Lord of Anomalies, seals the dimensional rift, steps into the Nether Realm to protect mankind forever, and names himself Zhong Kui.
