The chauvinistic Gu Jianguo always looked down on his wife, Su Guilan, believing she lived an easy life at home. After a bitter quarrel, an accidental wish beneath an old locust tree swaps their bodies. Trapped in the body of Su Guilan, who is pregnant with twins, Gu Jianguo is forced to endure the agonizing pains of pregnancy, his mother's harsh mistreatment, exhausting housework, and grueling labor in the fields. Only when looking through the household ledger does he realize that every cent his wife spent was to keep herself alive. During the frantic wheat harvest, sheer exhaustion causes a severe hemorrhage, nearly killing both him and the babies. Right between life and death, he finally comprehends all the hardships and grievances his wife quietly endured for years. Meanwhile, residing in Gu Jianguo's body, Su Guilan watches this household with cool detachment.
