Taking Off the Phoenix Crown: The White Moonlight Bows in My Place
On the wedding day, Lu Yang brought his old acquaintance Lin Wan to the door, claiming that Lin Wan was seriously ill and had little time left. He hoped to bow in marriage with her to fulfill her wish, asking Su Qing to grant it. Su Qing quietly listened and nodded in agreement. Once the wedding music stopped, she led her household servants to calmly move back all sixty-four carriage loads of dowry, and went to the main hall to announce the cancellation of the engagement. Upon learning the whole story, the elder of the Lu family angrily rebuked Lu Yang and repeatedly brought his son to apologize in person. After the engagement was broken off, Lin Wan's illness unexpectedly improved day by day, and only then did the Lu family realize there was a hidden story behind the events of that day.
