In the entire Chaoshan region, the most celebrated historical figure is Han Yu, the foremost of the Eight Great Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties, widely praised with the honor of having 'won the land so that all was named Han.' This drama adapts the historical events before and after Han Yu served as the Prefect of Chaozhou in the 14th year of Yuanhe (819 AD) and governed Chaoshan. Crossing from the historical narrative of Han Yu to the modern scenes at Xinghe Pearl Bay, it witnesses the echoes of a thousand years through the eyes of a historical figure.
