Voice actor Shen Sheng suffers from otosclerosis, taking on the final radio drama "The Mute Wife" before going completely deaf. Sound engineer Jiang Ting is her ex-boyfriend who left without saying goodbye ten years ago, and also the industry's only weirdo who can read minds with his ears. For the first three days, she toughs it out with her remaining hearing, while he frantically calls cut behind the mixing console; on the fourth day, she discovers the hard drive stores all her discarded outtakes and breath sounds from the past ten years; on the seventh day, she completes the final dubbing in absolute silence, relying not on her ears, but on the beats he signaled with lights through the glass. When all sound zeroes out, he edits ten years of discarded takes into a sound poem, and she finally understands.
