A Childhood That Cannot Fit on a Single Form
A mountain village primary school has only seven students left, and a single assessment form could make the school close down. Teacher Su Qinghe and Principal Lu Shoushan did not give up. Bringing the children and parents along mountain paths, they measured the actual commuting time and safety, recorded waiting pickups and weather changes, and wrote the missing reality into the form. The assessment form calculated only four kilometers in a straight line, but the actual one-way trip exceeded an hour. They also designed a feasible plan to retain the teaching point with touring remote classes, using a two-week trial run to prove classrooms could truly stay, and even welcomed two new students to enroll.
