The Camellias Have Bloomed, It's Time to Go Home
Twelve years after my husband died in a workplace accident, I used his compensation money and twenty years of savings from the textile factory to buy this three-bedroom, south-facing apartment overlooking the river. My son and daughter-in-law took turns persuading me to move back to the countryside to spend my retirement there, so they could free up my city home for her parents. I smiled and agreed, then immediately listed the property for sale and sold it for 2.8 million yuan. I bought a smaller apartment, changed the locks, and moved out. My in-laws arrived with a truckload of luggage and found themselves unable to fit their key into the lock. When the phone rang, I said nothing. This house represents a lifetime of hard work, and no one can take it away from me.
