A top-tier sculptor dies bizarrely during a citywide live broadcast—bearing no wounds, no signs of struggle, and with no weapon found. Psychological consultant Pei Ming is drawn into the investigation. From colored glaze installations, cosmetic medicine kits, mirrored secret rooms to corpse-flower greenhouses, every case points toward the same set of experimental code names. Criminal investigation captain Hu Xiao solders the logical chain with ironclad evidence, while Pei Ming uses professional insight to dissect psychological defenses. Together, they uncover a multi-year syndicate—the "Ember Group." At the end of this trail lies the laboratory explosion that killed Pei Ming's parents, an incident formerly classified as an accident. When victims are disguised as having died voluntarily, evidence alone must speak for the deceased.
