Her husband insisted on making his cousin Liu Rumei an equal wife, and the entire household pressured her to agree. Upon waking from an illness, Su Minghua flung open the courtyard gates and brought out her marriage certificate! The Marquis's manor can only have one legal wife. Either the cousin leaves the estate, or she hands over a deed of divorce. Starting with rejecting an equal wife, she seizes back household control, audits her dowry, settles old scores, and establishes strict rules—beating back the cousin, mother-in-law, maternal family, and clan one by one. By the time Shen Yu finally repents and pursues her, she is no longer the docile lady to be manipulated. She does not vie for favor; she only wants the final say.
