After transmigrating from ancient times to the modern era, Zhong Qing met Shen Lingchuan. It was Shen Lingchuan who told her that in this era, a man has only one wife. For his sake, Zhong Qing gave up the chance to return to her original world. Three years into their marriage, Zhong Qing, now a doctor, took an emergency case in the middle of the night—a female patient with a ruptured corpus luteum caused by intense intercourse. The woman turned out to be her husband's mistress, and the one rushing her to the hospital was none other than the husband who supposedly loved Zhong Qing deeply. Realizing Shen Lingchuan was no different from ancient polygamous men—perhaps even more hypocritical—Zhong Qing saw nothing left in this world to hold onto. Burning her life token and reversing space-time, Zhong Qing decided to leave Shen Lingchuan's world behind.
