The Genealogy Proofreader's Kin-Recognition Turmoil
Lu Heng, a proofreader of ancient texts, is entrusted with returning to his hometown to verify an old family genealogy. However, he becomes entangled in a fierce dispute between his eldest uncle and third uncle over ownership of the family homestead. Faced with handwriting forged using modern ink, deliberately cut fragments of ancient manuscripts, and a well monument sealed beneath concrete, he encounters the stubborn convictions and obstruction of the elders from both family branches, making the truth increasingly elusive. Drawing on his meticulous expertise in historical document restoration, Lu Heng painstakingly pieces together the clues, determined to uncover the concealed facts hidden among the yellowed pages and faded ink. Confronted with a century-old mystery surrounding his clan, can he use irrefutable evidence to dispel the fog, help relatives trapped in generations of resentment reconcile, and restore their place in the same family genealogy?
