The Golden Toad Remains Silent, Mortals Cross on Their Own (77 episodes)

Following his late father's dying wish, Zhou Changsheng pulled a black coffin south, only for the rope to snap upon a barren black stone beach where burial seemed impossible. Chiseling through the bluestone, he unexpectedly unearthed a stone toad, yet the accompanying silver coins and jade items were immediately seized by his uncle and aunt. From then on, through portents from the stone toad, saving lives by dark waters, and building bridges across rivers, miracle after miracle transformed the lives of mother and son. Facing the temptation of gold and the greed of his relatives, Zhou Changsheng held firmly to his conscience, offering others a way to live while establishing his own principles. When the stone toad eventually ceased spitting gold, the family finally understood that enduring fortune is found within honest toil and the warmth of ordinary everyday life.
