Lin Chuan, a future test subject, accidentally travels back in time to a battlefield beyond the northern frontier in the seventh year of the Yongle era of the Great Ming dynasty. Armed with an aether wristband and future military equipment, he narrowly escapes death and goes into hiding at the border under the identity of a low-born garrison soldier. Possessing peerless combat prowess and advanced knowledge, he repeatedly defeats foreign tribal forces, shaking up frontier trade and military-political affairs. Caught between corrupt officials, covert advisers, and the Jinyiwei secret police, he recruits a band of loyal fighters and forms a squad, laying plans step by step to seize opportunities and carve out a path to power in the turbulent frontierlands.
