Lin Xia took out a loan to buy a bus, driving nineteen mountain children to school for free while helping villagers sell produce and pick up medicine. Yet her kindness was misconstrued as greedy scheming, facing suspicion and attacks from the villagers until she disheartenedly suspended the route. Villager Liu Qiang seized the chance to buy a beat-up bus and take over the route, overloading it with mixed passengers and cargo for profit. On a stormy day, brake failure nearly ended in catastrophe. After the turmoil, an official mountain school bus service was established, showing that goodwill cannot be taken hostage, and proper rules are the safest guard for children.
