Xiao Man, bearer of an ancient inheritance, descends upon the precarious Ciyun Sect with the Ancestor's Token. The sect is burdened with a huge debt of spirit stones and must repay the debt, revive the spirit fields, and reopen the pill chamber within forty-nine days to keep its sect registration. Xiao Man possesses a special talent for sensing the emotions of ancient objects and spirit plants, but can only receive fragmented clues; all decisions and actions are left to the sect members to complete. Sect Master Gu Changqing, Lu Chen and others join hands to revitalize the sect and fight against the schemes of Yunxiao Sect's young master Xie Wuchen. Everyone puts aside conflicts of interest to jointly protect the sect's foundation. The story ends with a foreshadowing of Xiao Man's origins.
