The Legitimate Elder Sister Rejects the Marriage and Regrets It, I Become the Crown Prince's Cherished One
The Emperor issues an imperial decree appointing my legitimate elder sister as the Crown Princess. Pretending to be aloof and above worldly concerns, she dresses in plain white, kneels outside the palace gates in the rain for two hours, and declares that she yearns for mountains and rivers and refuses to be confined to the Eastern Palace. She publicly rejects the marriage, trampling on the Crown Prince's dignity to show everyone how different she is. The entire court witnesses the humiliation, leaving the Crown Prince utterly disgraced and heartbroken. He requests permission to appoint me as the new Crown Princess instead. When my formerly haughty sister, who always pretended to be indifferent to worldly pleasures, sees me enter the Eastern Palace in glory, she is stunned and consumed by jealousy and regret. She had intended to play hard to get and keep the Crown Prince under her control, but instead, she personally destroyed a perfect match. All she can do is watch as the wealth and glory that once seemed within her grasp become mine. A heartwarming ending with positive values.
