Anticipating an impending torrential downpour, local mountain-produce merchant Zhang Churan buys up wild mushrooms in advance at 800 yuan per pound. However, village director Ma Qi spreads rumors and incites an online smear campaign, branding her a crooked profiteer. Staying true to her contract, she honors every purchase commitment. After the rainstorm destroys the mushroom patches, Ma Qi floods the market with toxic, tainted fungi. In response, Zhang Churan publicly demonstrates how to sort poisonous mushrooms and reveals hard evidence to dismantle his conspiracy. Setting past grievances aside, she buys back the damaged fungi to turn into fertilizer, establishing industry standards between both villages and protecting the integrity of the wild mushroom trade through true competence.
