The Night the Fish Ponds Rolled Over, the Whole Village Begged Me to Go Back
Fish farmers in Liuwan Village wanted to make an extra four cents per catty, bypassing the fish collector Chen Shouyi to deal directly with an out-of-town buyer. Unexpectedly, a market crisis struck, leaving only one of the original four transport trucks. Six fish ponds harvested all at once, and a large quantity of live fish could not be transported in time, turning white and dying one after another. At their wits' end, everyone went to Chen Shouyi's door overnight, pleading with him to step in and save the fish. After this disturbance, the villagers suffered heavy losses and truly understood that doing business cannot be just about immediate petty gains, regaining their grasp of the weight of trust and rules.
