In 1920, the nation is in turmoil. Shen Ruolan appears to be a renowned opera singer, but in truth, she is a progressive agent. Partnered with "Crow," a forensic doctor undercover in the Military Governor's residence, she accepts a top-secret mission: assassinate Military Governor Yan Shixiong within three days before he signs a treasonous treaty. That night, Shen Ruolan infiltrates the manor of Yan Shixiong's ally Jin Kui, kills him with a single blade, and departs in disguise. Yan Shixiong is enraged and declares martial law across the city. As subsequent assassination attempts falter, her daughter Shen Xueqing mistakes her mother for a national traitor, making the situation even worse. At a critical juncture of life and death, Shen Ruolan reveals her true identity, and mother and daughter reconcile amidst peril. With Crow's fate unknown, Shen Ruolan takes a dangerous gamble, inviting Yan Shixiong to share a farewell drink—unbeknownst to him, lethal poison lurks within that final cup.
