The Prince Consort Keeps a Childhood Sweetheart, I Marry the Top Scholar
Grand Princess Zhao Wan married Xiao Yanci for three years, only for the prince consort to use her dowry to keep his childhood sweetheart Shen Zhaoheng outside the palace, with two children and the entire court waiting to make a joke of the princess. Zhao Wan, however, remains calm—she has long had by her side the top scholar Pei Guanlan, whom Shen Zhaoheng once desperately sought in vain. The two already share an imperial grandson, and the Emperor has long secretly annulled the marriage decree. On the golden throne hall, she publicly exposes Shen Zhaoheng's true face, discards the prince consort, ransacks the Xiao family, supports women in establishing households and engaging in commerce, outwits the chamber of commerce, suppresses rebellions, and crushes the counterattack of the rebel party. Ultimately, assisted side by side by Pei Guanlan, Zhao Wan breaks old ritual rules, carves out a path of survival for the women of the world, and joins hands to create a prosperous age.
