The Proxy Marriage Covenant: His Soft Spot Is Me
At the wedding, the wheelchair-bound groom called off the engagement in public. She didn't cry, but lifted her veil to demand a 3 million breach-of-contract fee—yet he caught sight of the crescent birthmark on her shoulder and neck, changed his mind about calling off the wedding, and offered 5 million to be his nominal wife for three months. On the very first day she married into the Gu family, she discovered that the man whose legs had been paralyzed for three years showed no muscle atrophy at all. She pretended not to know, testing him needle by needle and blocking trouble for him move by move; he pretended to be paralyzed, smoothing things over with her sister, elders, and socialite circle, and neatly arranging the life-saving money for her younger brother.
