The Regent and His Little Cook Princess
Jiang Zhiyi was originally the daughter of a merchant. After her parents fell ill and passed away, their restaurant was usurped by her uncle Lin Wang. She was reduced to a cook, suffered all kinds of bullying, and was publicly jilted by the He family due to a quack doctor's misdiagnosis. On the night of the annulment, she happened to meet the Regent Huo Chu in the rain, and the two shared a night of passion. Over a month later, she discovered she was pregnant. Huo Chu investigated her identity, bought the restaurant, and proposed marriage again, but she still did not trust him. Her uncle tricked her back into the Lin residence, intending to sell her to He Jinnian as a concubine. Forced to reveal that she carried the Regent's flesh and blood, no one believed her, and she was cornered while trying to escape. In the crisis, Huo Chu led his guards and the Empress to arrive in person and rescue her.
