The Simultaneous Interpreter's Dialect Banquet
Simultaneous interpreter Gu Yi returns to his family's old countryside home to celebrate his grandfather's 90th birthday, only to find himself facing a banquet filled with simmering tensions and clashing dialects. At the birthday feast, every relative has their own hidden agenda. Family members clash over debt disputes and competing interests in the old family home, using harsh, hurtful local dialects to conceal their own embarrassment. Hoping to calm the turmoil and preserve family harmony, Gu Yi sets up professional audio equipment and headsets, cleverly translating sharp, cutting dialects into warm and considerate words in real time. As he faces a family trial fraught with hidden tensions, can his simultaneous interpreting skills resolve the mounting crises and help relatives who have hurt one another understand the sincere feelings hidden behind their rough country accents?
