Tells the story of Su Xiaolan who, after her mother Liang Xiuyun suffers a severe car accident, sees through her marriage and her in-laws completely. With her mother in critical condition, she rushes alone to the hospital to sign for emergency surgery, only for her husband Zhao Zhicheng to become unreachable, her mother-in-law He Guifang to act with disgust, and her father-in-law Zhao Shouyi to prefer playing mahjong rather than coming over—even collectively shirking responsibility when faced with 200,000 yuan in lifesaving medical fees. It is not until Zhao Zhicheng's 5-million-yuan project gets cancelled that the Zhao family, missing for ten days, suddenly reappears en masse, attempting to force Su Xiaolan into signing an agreement to delete recordings and take the blame for the company's losses.
