House renovator Cheng Ye takes on the renovation of Gu Qinghe and Su Nianqing's old home. The elderly couple have slept in separate rooms for years and even requested a thicker soundproof wall between their bedrooms. While tearing down the wall, Cheng Ye discovers old letters written by Gu Qinghe to his wife more than thirty years ago, as well as their hidden care for each other beneath sharp tongues. He intentionally leaves an opening in the wall, allowing medicine boxes, meals, and conversations to pass through once again. As misunderstandings and the truth about selling the house are revealed, the couple finally lets go of their estrangement. Cheng Ye remodels the space with a bookshelf and wooden window, reconnecting the old house and bringing two long-distanced hearts back together, filling life once more with warmth and echoes.
