Xiao Zhenbei, the Great Zhou dynasty's mighty general, stubbornly defends the isolated city of Shazhou. To save the city's starving and freezing soldiers and civilians, he sets aside his dignity as a commander and earns money in the modern world through physical labor, taking on jobs as a mover, a personal fitness trainer, and a commercial model. He brings food, cotton-padded clothing, greenhouse technology, and military-industrial materials back to ancient times, providing for the people and modernizing the army.
