The Ninth Princess of the Jing River Dragon King secretly ventures out and accidentally gets caught in a fisherman's net. Her adoptive father, Jiang Boyu, is kind-hearted and wants to set her free, but his greedy and vicious adopted son, Zhao Fugui, forcibly takes the little dragon away. At an apothecary, he has her dragon scales pulled out in exchange for four hundred taels of silver, which he spends on a lavish mansion and a life of extravagance. He even cuts ties with his adoptive father and vows to capture the little dragon again to extract more valuable dragon parts. Gravely wounded and on the verge of death, the Ninth Princess is carefully nursed back to health by Jiang Boyu. Unaware that harming a dragon brings divine punishment from the Dragon Clan, Zhao Fugui cares only about his ill-gotten wealth. Just as he prepares to capture the little dragon again, flashes of lightning and brilliant white light suddenly appear across the sky. The Dragon Clan is furious, and a reckoning is about to descend. Greed and kindness are finally brought to account.
