The White Wolf Brings a Child, She Is the Little Immortal of Medicine Mountain
In the 1980s, the family of Li Laoguai, an elderly herbalist in Medicine Mountain Village, falls into desperate hardship. His son has passed away, his daughter-in-law has left, and all that remains are gambling debts and his seriously ill grandson, Li Aqiang. Desperate to earn money for his grandson's life-saving treatment, Li Laoguai ventures into the snowy mountains, only to find himself and the other villagers surrounded by a pack of wolves. At this critical moment, a white wolf appears carrying a three-year-old girl named Shaoyao in its mouth. It gently places her before Li Laoguai and then disappears. The others believe this is a terrible omen, but he cannot bear to leave the little girl out in the cold and hungry, so he insists on taking her home. Although his wife, Chen Guihua, worries about their already impoverished household, Shaoyao's sweet and well-behaved nature eventually wins her heart, and she decides to give the child a home. Little does anyone know that this mysterious little girl has an extraordinary ability: she can understand the voices of plants and trees.
