Qingyun Village experiences a sudden stroke of fortune as the new international airport project site is chosen here, with relocation compensation amounting to a staggering 2.8 million per household! Faced with this massive sum of wealth, the villagers, incited by opinion leader Zhao Dagen, begin jointly boycotting the signing process, attempting to force the government and construction team to increase the offer by "holding out for a higher price." Amid taunts that "whoever signs first is a fool," Zhou Mingchuan, an ordinary interior decorator from a poor family whose mother is seriously ill, decisively and cleanly signs his name the very moment the official red-header document is issued, becoming a "traitor" and a "fool" in the eyes of the entire village. Yet, Zhou Mingchuan becomes the village's sole winner.
