The Whole Village Was Reborn, Only I Wasn't
In 2004, in Chenzhuang Village in southern Henan, everyone in the village is reborn overnight with memories of the next twenty-five years. Some rush to buy houses in Shenzhen, others bet on stocks, and some plan to get rich overnight. Only Chen Mo, a simple-minded young man, knows nothing and continues squatting at his doorway eating noodles. Yet he is the one who stops Auntie Zhang from risking her entire fortune with a single remark that something is too expensive, helping her turn a restaurant into a thriving business. A handwritten note helps Uncle Li calculate the true cost of buying a house. Chen Mo withstands rumors, repairs his mother's desecrated grave, protects his family's land deed, and, at the crucial moment, brings the account books to light, restoring justice to the village.
