After spending 18 years away from home, Su Nianqing is reunited with her biological parents. The very next day, they demand that she enter the palace in place of their adopted daughter, Su Yuyan, to repay the Su family's kindness. Forced into the palace on a rainy night, Su Nianqing rises through its ranks and becomes a powerful figure whom even the imperial consorts must treat with respect. When the Su family spends a fortune arranging for a palace maid named Su Nianqing to serve at Yong'an Pavilion, they never imagine that their request will reach the very woman they once abandoned.
