Li Chundong appears to accept defeat, but secretly uses a concealed underground water circulation system and solar power to keep his watermelons alive while recording evidence of Wang's destruction. Convinced he has won, Wang takes out a high-interest loan to fund his scheme and even copies the tenfold compensation clause into a supply contract with a wealthy businessman from the city.
