The principal of Sanhe Primary School, nestled in the mountains of Shizhu, Chongqing, is determined to form a girls' soccer team and open up new opportunities for girls in the mountains. Guo Zhi, a disillusioned former city team player, is persuaded by the principal to stay and coach. He visits families one by one to recruit players. Each girl faces her own family struggles, and together they overcome parental opposition, poor playing fields, and a lack of equipment. While catching up on their schoolwork, they train relentlessly. They endure defeats and conflicts on the field, growing stronger through every setback as they fight their way to the national finals and pull off an astonishing comeback to win the championship. Years later, the former team captain, Huopaor, returns after completing her studies and inspires a new generation of mountain girls to pursue their soccer dreams with courage.
