Tough Sister of the Eighties, Leading the Whole Village to Prosperity
In the 1980s, in Qingshan Village, the orphan Su Banxia is sharp-witted and feisty, repeatedly targeted and suppressed by the selfish Zhou Wenbin. Recognizing the business potential of wild kudzu roots, she meets Lu Zheng, a military engineer living in seclusion in the countryside, and together they develop a root-grinding machine. Su Banxia repeatedly overcomes schemes involving counterfeit goods, water-blocking and land-grabbing disputes, and malicious reports. She establishes a kudzu processing factory, opens up wasteland for large-scale seedling cultivation, and provides villagers with jobs and additional income. Li Cuihua, the village beauty who was once deceived by Zhou Wenbin, comes around and helps manage the accounts, while Lu Zheng gives up a high-paying job in the city to stay by Su Banxia's side. Through honesty and ability, Su Banxia leads the entire village out of poverty, achieving success in both her career and love.
