Thirty-Eight Years: Awakening from an Absurd Dream
A 65-year-old elderly man, due to a misdiagnosis, mistakenly believes he is suffering from a serious illness. After confessing his past mistakes to his family, he chooses to leave with nothing. Experiencing the vicissitudes of life, he sees through the utilitarian intentions of others, feels deeply remorseful in his heart, and is single-mindedly determined to make it up to his wife. During this period, he successively deals with a series of difficult problems such as the ownership of family heirloom items, property preservation, false debts, and a forged will. Stepping forward at a ceremony to protect his wife, who gets frightened and falls slightly ill, he attends to her with meticulous care day and night. Under the long companionship, the wife gradually lets go of her knot in the heart, the two resolve their estrangement, and amidst the understanding and blessings of relatives and friends, they accompany each other to peacefully spend their remaining years.

Un hombre de 65 años, debido a un diagnóstico erróneo, cree equivocadamente que padece una enfermedad grave. Tras confesar sus errores del pasado a su familia, elige irse sin nada. Al experimentar los avatares de la vida, ve claramente las intenciones utilitarias de los demás, siente una profunda culpa en su interior y se empeña firmemente en compensar a su esposa.
