Following his grandfather's arrangements, Lu Zheng hides his identity and lives an ordinary life for three years. Conformément aux dispositions de son grand-père, Lu Zheng dissimule son identité et mène une vie ordinaire pendant trois ans. Il s'investit sincèrement dans son mariage, mais sa femme le méprise. Lors du troisième réveillon du Nouvel An chinois, elle le force à quitter la maison pour défendre un autre homme, et il décide de mettre fin à leur mariage. Après avoir révélé sa véritable identité, il enquête sur l'ancienne affaire qui lui a fait perdre, dix ans auparavant, son admissibilité à une admission universitaire sur recommandation.
