Veterinarian Li Changfeng foresees an impending local outbreak of swine fever and urges his uncle to disinfect the farm and switch to certified feed. Instead, he is accused of taking kickbacks and ridiculed by the entire village. Da Qiang, a young veteran, chooses to trust him and commits all his savings to strict epidemic prevention. Meanwhile, the uncle greedily buys cheap substandard feed, later uses banned drugs, and sells infected pigs, ultimately facing legal repercussions. As swine fever spreads widely, neighboring farms suffer devastating losses, while only Li and Da Qiang's pig farms remain safe. Together, they establish a livestock cooperative, popularize scientific farming, and lead the villagers in compliant breeding toward steady wealth.
