General's Tomb: Ten Li of Red Finery to Mourn the Departed - Season 2
On the day the young general died in battle, it was precisely the time when the eldest princess of the Great Song was sent away for a political marriage to secure peace. On the long street, the red bridal sedan chair and the funeral casket collided head-on, red silks reflecting white funeral banners, and the entire street fell dead silent. The lovers who once promised under the pear blossom tree to hold hands and grow old together were ultimately torn apart cruelly by family and national grievances. Trapped within the high walls of the deep palace, year after year she stroked that white jade hairpin, waiting until her dying day without ever seeing the return of her beloved.
